A Visit to Gosport Day Center for Vulnerable Adults
by Eve Mountain
On Tuesday 2nd August we visited the Gosport Day Centre for Vulnerable Adults. The day was to start with a tour of the facility for us after which we were to perform.
Alfie introduced us to the facility and we were then shown around and saw a number of the facilities:
-
The sensory room which was an experience in itself, with soft couches, soothing music and all manner of things to delight the eye.
-
The art room was special too, with many art projects going on. The ‘tin man’, being just one, he was life size and made of coca cola tins, he was spectacular.
It was then our turn to perform. The performance that we gave was greeted with unlimited joy, which released special things in all of us. I found myself explaining the story afterwards as to children – the response was great.
We hope it will be a regular venue for us!
