Summer Break Activities - 2011
On arrival we ran straight to shelter where we had fun in the play area (throwing balls at each other) whilst the parents had a coffee and a good chit-chat. Despite the weather we still had ago on the ghost train where the older ones gave Laura, let’s say, a little fright. We also enjoyed crazy golfing before heading off to our private animal handling session. Here we met some beautiful horses, a baby chick, fluffy bunny, a guinea pig and a wounded turtle. After the photos and the scurry to find the cutest animal we all went different direction to re-unite for food at lunchtime. Unfortunately by this time the rain was coming down in truck loads and people were looking homewards.
Shortly after we were blessed with the sun, and more activities. One popular ride was the 'Barrel Bugs' where one of the mums proved extremely eager, didn't they Paula! After she pushed infront of patiently waiting mothers and small children, hopping in to her kart she was heard to say “It’s a learning curb for them” and scurried away. Shortly before this incident on the same ride Jess (one of the Youth) fell out off her kart making everyone laugh, as normal. The ponies proved very popular, some of our Kidzone would make great cow girls/boys, strutting their stuff. Too wind-down the day we watched the sheep racing where we all cheered on our sheep as they went around the track.

Saturday 16th July Kidzone were on their way to a well disserved trip, packing coats and wellies not even the weather could stop us from having fun!
Before anyone could say anything the older ones, (and I'm not just talking about Joyce!), were out of the shelter and down to the cresta run tobogganing which it was taken over by St.John’s. It was a blast, just ask Joyce, Paula or Cheryl. Craig added a twist literally spinning all that want it in circles as they careered down the slope, it was hilarious!
We are sure we speak for all in saying a BIG thank you to Lesley and Michael Moore for organising the event for us all. It was a great day to remember and we are looking forward to next year’s Kidzone outing.......no pressure for the next organisers!
